Meet CSD’s New Board Member

Our Board of Directors has a new member! CSD is proud to announce that Elise Nye will serve on the Board of Directors effective July 1, 2020. She joins nine other board members whose role is to provide overall strategic guidance to the organization.

CSD CEO Chris Soukup expressed great excitement over the addition of Ms. Nye to the board, citing her accomplished background as just one of the reasons. “As a successful deaf female business owner and someone who has worked in leadership roles within the healthcare sector,” he said, “she brings a plethora of knowledge and experiences that will be invaluable to the work of our board.”

Elise Nye

Elise Nye is an entrepreneur and social leader who led large-scale projects in healthcare administration for 23 years before acquiring Santa Fe Weaving Gallery, an art-to-wear retail boutique. While living in Seattle and Santa Fe, she served on various boards, including the ADWAS Board, where her dynamic, people-centered leadership helped move the organization through their exciting capital campaign to build the nation’s first housing for Deaf and Deaf-Blind women and children. Elise lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her three boys where they enjoy the great outdoors, climbing calderas, and the 283 days of sun per year.

“I am honored and delighted to be part of a vibrant Deaf organization that is ramping up to some exciting times ahead,” explained Elise Nye. “It’s a privilege to work with a Board of esteemed and engaged individuals. Onward and upward!”

We are excited to have Elise on board and cannot wait to share more news about the great work she will be doing with CSD.
