Basic Adult Education

We’ve offered programming for Minnesota’s deaf adults since 1989. Currently, we offer classes at five sites throughout the state: three in the Twin Cities, one in Sauk Rapids and one in Faribault, as well as distance learning options. All levels of English, math, driver’s education and citizenship are available for deaf adults who are seeking to improve their skills as they navigate their life journey in Minnesota.

Deaf Advocacy

Deaf advocacy has been an integral part of CSD Minnesota’s programming for the past 10 years. We strive to empower our clients with information, knowledge and resources as they heal from personal violence experiences. Through training and community-based workshops, we promote compassion for deaf victims and survivors by sharing strategies that can prevent violence and promote a culture of change.

Volunteer Program

Although it was just established in 2014, CSD of Minnesota has a robust volunteer program. The program provides an opportunity for area students learning ASL, studying for interpreting training or anyone who else has an interest in giving back to the community. Potential volunteers are screened and trained, then placed in appropriate settings to work with our programs.
