Here’s how it works:

All districts participating in the Cooperating School District Insurance Trust are eligible to compete in this 6 week challenge starting January 16th and ending on February 26th. The district with the most miles logged at the end of the 6 week period wins the Winged Foot Trophy, along with bragging rights, and the satisfaction that you completed a New Year’s resolution! Total miles will be based on the sum of the top 10 walkers from each district, each week.

Also, every week for 6 weeks, the person within each district who logs the greatest number of miles, wins a prize.

At the end of the 6 weeks, the individual with the most miles logged over all district participants, wins a $100 gift card!

Here’s how to get started:

Go to www.walkingworks.com to register and sign in.

Click here to download the listing of building wellness representatives. You will pick up a pedometer from that person or department.

How to calibrate your pedometer. Download PDF

You can also use your iPhone, Android or Blackberry to track your steps. Download iMapMyRun, a FREE app. Search online for your device.

Starting January 16th you can post your daily steps or distance walked on your log. Logs should be updated by 11:59p.m. on Sunday, of each week, to be eligible for the weekly prize.

Activities other than walking can be converted to steps using the “Activity Conversion Chart”. conversion chart pdf)

Weekly updates on team and individual standings will be posted on here.
