Professional Development: Administrator Mentor Program

CSD/RPDC Offers Mentor Program for Administrators

Learning opportunities start in January 2007

In cooperation with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, an Administrator Mentoring Program (AMP) is available throughout the State. Missouri requires all new school leaders to receive two years of structured and documented mentoring. The AMP initiative provides new school district leaders with access to trained mentors. Through the program, new leaders receive 26 hours of customized mentoring support for two years.

Several participants from CSD member districts are currently being mentored by an AMP mentor. CSD and the St. Louis Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) are working closely through AMP to offer small group learning experiences for new leaders and their mentors.

Beginning in January 2007, a number of learning opportunities will be offered (see listing below).

To learn more about becoming a mentor or to participate in AMP activities listed below, please contact Dennis Dorsey, associate executive director of professional development for CSD, at 314.692.9715 or ddorsey@csd.org.

Call 314.692.9715 or 314.692.9735 for information about these programs. NOTE: All programs will be held at the St. Louis RPDC, located at 8225 Florissant Road.
