On May 1, more than 20 public
school districts received the "Distinction in Performance" award
from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
(DESE) in a ceremony held at the REM Theatre at Maritz,
Inc. Assistant Commissioner Dr. Charles Brown led the
ceremony as DESE, the St. Louis Regional Professional Development
Center and Cooperating School Districts, honored the districts.
Also present at the ceremony was Assistant Commissioner Nancy
Headrick, State Board Member Deborah Demien and DESE State
Supervisor Dr. Robert Taylor.
