CSD Launches District’s-Choice online learning For School Districts
Cooperating School Districts is excited about its new, high-quality online program titled District’s-Choice Online Learning. District’s-Choice is the best option for school districts looking to establish or expand their online learning program. District’s-Choice offers high-quality courses at the lowest prices in Missouri.
DCOL is not a virtual school, but instead a menu of course options that each school district can choose from in creating its own virtual learning program. CSD has undergone an extensive process to choose the highest-quality vendors and program offerings to make available schools and students. Districts can add to or change a customized virtual learning program at any time.
All of the courses offered through District’s-Choice Online Learning are taught by Missouri certified teachers and are aligned with Missouri curriculum standards. A limited student to teacher ratio is established for each course.
"Most any student will benefit from District’s-Choice Online Learning. Students who are in alternative school settings or at risk of dropping out will be able to take classes on a schedule that best fits their individual needs. Those who require credit recovery can take the courses when needed to meet academic goals. Student participation in DCOL can help keep them in school––helping to increase your district’s graduation rate by lowering the dropout rate.", says Nancy George, Director of Cooperanting School Districts Virtual Learning Center.
Students who need an extra challenge may take advanced placement or other higher-level courses that might not be available in your schools. In addition, a small group of students who wish to take advanced courses, can interact with their designated teacher, online, during the school day eliminating the need to hire additional staff.
District’s-Choice Online Learning can also help school districts bring new students into their online program, generating additional state revenue. Home-school students, non-public school students, hospitalized students and students in juvenile detention centers could all benefit from taking one, two or even more classes through DCOL. Rolling enrollment dates allow students to begin classes at a time best suited for them and the school.
