Read what some of our members have to say about the EPA!

"The Executive Professsional Academy (EPA) was formed out of a professional need to connect with peers who understand the challenges of working alongside a superintendent or board member. Who better to ask for guidance than an assistant who has the same issue? Not only does the Academy offer a professional connection, it also offers a sense of family for those moments when a personal connection is needed." -- Donna Woods, St. Louis Public Schools

"The EPA has great professional development opportunities, but more important are the friendships that you make and the networking opportunities that help you do your job better." -- Nancy Sickler, Wentzville

"Serving on the EPA board and attending the meetings gives me an opportunity to meet with my peers in other districts.  It just makes sense to have an organization that is specific to what you do on a day to day basis in order to share ideas and support each other with concerns that we might have in our districts.  The speakers/presenters are chosen by the group which enables us to only have those speakers/presenters that are specific to our needs."  -- Carol McCauley, Normandy

"I've always received some new ideas from other districts on different procedures, handling specific issues depending upon discussion(s) at the time; a variety of speakers from different environments or district(s) is always helpful." -- Linda Schober, Windsor C-1

"The EPA provides an opportunity for me to network with other executive professionals in the same unique position.  The vast knowledge and pool of information is invaluable to me in my job." -- Angie Korte, Hazelwood

"The information shared from guest speakers and amongst other EPA members has been extremely helpful to me.  My Superintendent encouraged me to attend and supports my continued attendance ... I hope other Superintendents do the same." -- Laura Hecht, Lindbergh

"Before I became a member of the EPA, I was fairly new to my position as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.  I came from the business world, with virtually no knowledge of district processes.  After leaving my first meeting, I left with a sense of belonging and also comfort knowing that there are other people dealing with some of the same issues that I face on a daily basis.  I received so much insight from the other members who have been in their positions for a long time, and have developed wonderful friendships.  I look forward to each and every meeting and get excited about the different topics that we cover. Thank you." -- Bridget Hollis, Warren County

"The Executive Professionals Academy (EPA) provides a rare opportunity for administrative assistants to the superintendent and board to meet with other professionals who share similar goals and responsibilities. It is great to have a network of individuals with whom you can share information and resources - - - and, it’s great to be able to put the name with the face!" -- Trudi Lewis - Kirkwood

"The academy has inspired me to work with other professionals within my district to have meetings to support our staff to establish a stronger connection for the success of the district. Thanks EPA for all that you do!" -- Demetra King, RVG

"The EPA allows me to interact with others in the same profession and to discuss some of the day-to-day relevant issues that we, in our profession, experience.  Attendance at the meetings has been a good venue to learn and understand valuable information from various sources. In addition, the camaraderie that we share with each other is beneficial and has gone beyond what I expected.  I hope the EPA stays around for a long time." -- Charlotte Tatum, School District of University City
